MeditationMeditation means concentrated thinking: concentrating on the idea – the feeling – of bliss (infinite happiness).
Concentration means only one thought. But there are usually many different thoughts in the mind. So how do we control them? We have to channel all our thoughts towards a greater one; a stronger and more positive one. And the strongest and most positive thought is that of bliss; perfect peace and contentment – the essence of our existence. That positive thought is introduced into the mind through what we call a mantra. Man means "mind," and tra means "that which liberates." So mantra means a word or phrase which "liberates the mind." Although we rely mostly on our eyes, sound actually has the most powerful effect on the mind. So the internal sound of a mantra is the most powerful way of concentrating the mind. It concentrates the mind on a particular idea – the idea (or rather feeling) of infinite peace and happiness. The mantra has three qualities which empower it to do that: 1. Concentrative: It acts as an object of concentration, because the mind has to have something to focus on; it cannot be objectless. 2. Incantative: Everything has a particular vibration. You like music with a congenial vibration to your own. You like someone when their vibration suits your own. The mantra also has a particular wavelength, and that wavelength vibrates the mind with the feeling of infinite happiness – bliss. |
3. Ideative: "As you think, so you become." This powerful psychological principle is the mainstay of meditation. If you think negatively, your life will be negative; if you think positively, your life will be positive. We are continually in the process of becoming the object of our ideation. So the meaning of the mantra is vital. It must be the most uplifting ideation; the most positive of thoughts. Again: infinite happiness; perfect peace and contentment – bliss. By ideating regularly on the thought of bliss, one's mind gradually expands, and that expansion continues until one's limited sense of existence merges into the infinite cosmic existence. One's individual experience of pleasure and pain eventually gets transformed into the constant experience of cosmic bliss, just as a river attains total freedom when it merges with the sea. Benefits of Meditation: Meditation is a systematic and scientific way to gently focus the mind. The body's response to meditation is just the opposite of its reaction to stress. Meditation calms the central nervous system as well as our breathing, heart rate and blood pressure. The regular practice of meditation broadens the scope of your mind, helping you to develop a keener sense of intuition and a deeper understanding of yourself and the world around you. People who meditate typically experience a state of deep inner peace and harmony, which in turn leads to more intense and lasting feelings of happiness and fulfilment. In meditation one should concentrate one's mind on a positive and uplifting thought. As you think so you become. http://www.anandamarga.org/learn-how-to-meditate.htm ___ TAQWA 29Setembro2011 |
Don't show your teeth like dogs. Man smiles...."A bad manner is arguing. If you are hundred percent in the right, all right in fact, still, don't argue. If you see the person is asking to know what is right, you may speak, there is a place to enter. But if you see that he only wants to dispute, you should leave him, he is closed. Never any benefit comes by argument, people only become enemies because of it. This is the true meaning of the verse: "You to your belief and me to mine".
Argument extinguishes the light of Faith in our hearts. There is no friendship after arguments. Hearts become cold. Don´t show your teeth like dogs. Man smiles." -MSAD ___ TAQWA 21 Julho 2011 |
Guarda bem o teu tempo. É um recurso que se esgota.

The Flying Trapeze"Sometimes, I feel that my life is a series of trapeze swings. I'm either
hanging on to a trapeze bar swinging along or, for a few moments, I'm hurdling across space between the trapeze bars. Mostly, I spend my time hanging on for dear life to the trapeze bar of the moment. It carries me along a certain steady rate of swing and I have the feeling that I'm in control. I know most of the right questions, and even some of the right answers. But once in a while, as I'm merrily, or not so merrily, swinging along, I look ahead of me into the distance, and what do I see? I see another trapeze bar looking at me. It's empty. And I know, in that place in me that knows, that this new bar has my name on it. It is my next step, my growth, my aliveness coming to get me. In my heart-of-hearts I know that for me to grow, I must release my grip on the present well-known bar, to move to the new one. Each time it happens, I hope—no, I pray—that I won't have to grab the new one. But in my knowing place, I know that I must totally release my grasp on my old bar, and for some moments in time I must hurtle across space before I can grab the new bar. Each time I do this I am filled with terror. It doesn't matter that in all my previous hurdles I have always made it. Each time, I am afraid I will miss, that I will be crushed on unseen rocks in the bottomless basin between the bars. But I do it anyway. I must. Perhaps this is the essence of what the mystics call faith. No guarantees, no net, no insurance, but we do it anyway because hanging on to that old bar is no longer an option. And so, for what seems to be an eternity, but actually lasts a microsecond. |
I soar across the dark void called "the past is over, the future is not yet here." It's called a transition. I have come to believe that it is the only place that real change occurs. I have noticed that, in our culture, this transition zone is looked upon as a "no-thing," a no-place between places. Sure, the old trapeze bar was real, and as for the new one coming towards me, I hope that's real too. But the void in between? That's just a scary, confusing, disorienting nowhere that must be gotten through as fast and as unconsciouslyas possible. What a shame! I have a sneaking suspicion that the transition zone is the only real thing, and the bars are the illusions we dream up to not notice the void. Yes, with all the fear that can accompany transitions, they are still the most vibrant, growth-filled, passionate moments in our lives. And so, transformation of fear may have nothing to do with making fear go away, but rather with giving ourselves permission to "hang out" in the transition zone between the trapeze bars. Allowing ourselves to dwell in the only place where change really happens. It can be terrifying. It can also be enlightening. Hurdling through the void, we just may learn to fly." ~Author unknown ___ TAQWA 22 Junho 2011 |

Trata do teu equipamento.
Pensa.
World Tour, competições, celebridades, filmes: Ok. Isto é a verdade.
Entrar no tubo, sair do tubo. Braços abaixo do pescoço.
Surfa top to bottom, limpo.
Existem mulheres no lineup. Deixa-as serem surfistas.
Espera a tua vez e ela virá.

Bend but never break
It was a hot day, and Old-man was trying to sleep, but the heat made him
sick. He wandered to a hilltop for air; but there was no air. Then he
went down to the river and found no relief. He traveled to the
timberlands, and there the heat was great, although he found plenty of
shade. The traveling made him warmer, of course, but he wouldn't stay
still.
By and by he called to the winds to blow, and they commenced. First they didn't blow very hard, because they were afraid they might make Old-man angry, but he kept crying:
"Blow harder : harder : harder! Blow worse than ever you blew before, and send this heat away from the world.'
'Bend and break, Fir-Tree!' cried Old-Man, and the Fir-Tree did bend and break.
'Bend and break, Pine-Tree!' and the Pine-Tree did bend and break.
'Bend and break, Spruce-Tree!' and the Spruce-Tree did bend and break.
'Bend and break, O Birch-Tree!' and the Birch-Tree did bend, but it wouldn't break, no it would not!
'Ho! Birch-Tree, won't you mind me? Bend and break! I tell you,' but all the Birch-Tree would do was bend. It bent to the ground; it bent double to please Old-Man, but it would not break.
'Blow harder, wind!' cried Old-Man, 'blow harder and break the Birch-Tree.' The wind tried to blow harder, but it couldn't, and that made the thing worse, because Old-Man was so angry he went crazy.
'Break! I tell you, break!' screamed Old-Man to the Birch-Tree.
'I won't break,' replied the Birch. 'I shall never break for any wind. I will bend, but I shall never, never break.'
'You won't, hey?' cried Old-Man, and he rushed at the Birch-Tree with his hunting-knife. He grabbed the top of the Birch because it was touching the ground, and began slashing the bark of the Birch-Tree with the knife. All up and down the trunk of the tree Old-Man slashed, until the Birch was covered with the knife slashes.
'There! that is for not minding me. That will do you good! As long as time lasts you shall always look like that, Birch-Tree; always be marked as one who will not mind its maker. Yes, and all the Birch-Trees in the world shall have the same marks forever.' They do, too. You have seen them and have wondered why the Birch-Tree is so strangely marked.
